Red Bull is searching the nation’s major cities to find artists who can bring their visions to design Red Bull coolers. Winners will have the opportunity to exhibit their work this December at the SCOPE Miami Art Fair, known for contemporary art, which is taking place during Art Basel. Last night, FACTORY WEST, an art gallery in West Hollywood, hosted an event to showcase the coolers covered in innovative art and party-goers were asked to cast their votes on-line to help choose a winner.

One of LA’s historic landmarks, the Vibiana, was front and center last night as it hosted Brigade LA’s runway show, all a part of Style Fashion Week LA. Vibiana, a former Roman Catholic Cathedral constructed in 1876, was considered an architectural jewel when it debuted, but over a century later was almost demolished due to the damage it received in the Northridge earthquake. Its had a facelift and has been converted into a fabulous venue which is reigniting the excitement surrounding LA Fashion Week – which has been struggling since Mercedes Benz pulled out as a sponsor years ago.
Brigade LA, a trendy boutique in downtown LA that carries a variety of great lines, showcased looks that could currently be found at their location. As with all fashion shows, some pieces one can imagine themselves possibly wearing, such as the flirty one-piece Union Jack swimsuit. Other looks, not so much, like the skin-tight pink jumpsuit.
By the end of the evening, I was hopeful at the possibility of the city’s fashion week being rejuvenated.

I found it humorous that they have the original confession booths still inside the venue

You can go from drab to fab in less than an hour without breaking the bank at one of LA’s newest blowout salons south of Brentwood – Blow Angels.
The people have spoken. Last night the NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live complex was flooded with screaming fans, swarms of media, and glittering stars as it hosted the 2013 People’s Choice Awards. Jennifer Lawrence and “The Hunger Games” walked away with a handful of awards, Alicia Keys got the crowd going with amazing performances of “Girl on Fire” and “New Day,” and Christina Aguilera received the “People’s Voice Award.” One of the most important awards of the evening, “Favorite Humanitarian,” went to Sandra Bullock for her efforts with helping to rebuild a New Orleans high school post Hurricane Katrina. Legends say she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. Powerful, intelligent, and seductive, she used her charm to attract two of the most influential men of her time. Cleopatra, the last Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, has intrigued people for centuries – including WeSpyGlam. The California Science Center in downtown Los Angeles has brought the largest collection of objects from her time which will be on display for only a few more days. Long lines will await you upon your arrival but trust us, you’ll be happy you came.
Egyptologists and archeologists have been on a mission to not only find her tomb and body, but also piece together what her life was really like. The exhibit explains how her ancestry was actually linked to a Greek dynasty which often blended the Greek and Egyptian gods to create new figures of worship. It also highlights the discovery of several ancient Egyptian cities which had been submerged under water for thousands of years due to natural disasters. It’s an awe-inspiring experience to be in the presence of massive sculptures which had recently been uncovered from the depths of the sea. Another exciting piece on display is a stone structure which is believed to be the world’s first astrological chart. What’s really unbelievable is a document with Cleopatra’s signature!
The only disappointment – still no images of her face! Yes, several coins were on display which have her profile but they aren’t accurate. Unfortunately, the Romans destroyed many of her images and portrayed her unfavorably in writings, but apparently even they along with her other enemies admitted that she was breathtaking.

If you’re looking for a cozy cafe with a Euro/Middle Eastern vibe then head over to the Casbah Cafe in Silver Lake, one of LA’s artsy neighborhoods just east of Hollywood. The decor is adorable with lanterns dangling from the ceiling and eclectic goods imported from around the globe to quaint tables in small alcoves covered with vines outside. Our recommendation – have the walnut baklava and mint tea while people watching. :)

If you’re searching for the perfect scent to enhance the ambiance in your home then look no further than Malin + Goetz’s dark rum candle. This sexy scent is intoxicating and will leave all your house guests feeling a bit flirtatious.
